Season Two
2.01 - Perfect StormWhile on her cell phone calling Davis, Tru is racing to make it somewhere on time. Frantic, Davis gives her directions and she walks into a class on her first day of medical school. Before class starts Harrison calls, Tru asks if he's found Jack since he's disappeared for two months. Harrison tells her that their dad is in town and wants to have lunch with him. As Tru hangs up, she gets chewed out by the professor who says she's not a real student since she's only auditing because Davis pulled some strings. Richard Davies tells Harrison that he's moving to town and will see Jordan and their kids on weekends. He asks about Tru and how she's been since Luc died. Richard tells Harrison that the reason he wanted to meet was to offer Harrison a job as an investigator. Later, when Harrison meets with Tru he tells her he turned down their father's offer. He tells her that he has his own job that he got on his own but as they approach where Harrison parked the company van, they find it's been stolen. Tru tells Harrison they'll work it out when his phone rings. It's his bookie saying someone with Jack's description just came to collect. Tru gets the address and goes there and on her way sees a little girl in the street about to be hit by a truck. Before she can react the truck passes by and she sees that on the other side of the street Jack has saved the little girl. Jack tells Tru that he's been watching her all summer, he knows what she's been up to, saving people. He said he hoped she'd come to her senses and stop saving people who are supposed to die. Tru goes to the morgue and tells Davis that Jack is back. Jack meanwhile meets with Richard, who tells Jack that when it comes to Tru he's going to need all the help he can get. Richard says that Jack reminds him of himself when he had the job. Richard also points out that he won. Davis has to now get ready for his psych evaluation and instead of finding who he expects, he finds a replacement, Dr. Carrie Allen. They sit and begin his evaluation starting with inkblots, which makes Davis very nervous. Later, Tru is on the phone with her dad, saying she thinks Harrison should take the job, when a body is brought in. It's Kate Wilson, who was a Harbor Patrol Officer who responded to an SOS call and was caught in a white squall. Tru begins to examine to body when Davis walks in, he's pleased to know if something happens to him she could take care of it on her own. He tells her that his psychological test didn't go well and Dr. Allen has requested more testing. Just as Tru asks what other bad news can come that day, Kate Wilson asks for help and the day rewinds. Three hours before class Tru calls Davis telling him what a day he missed. Tru tracks down Kate and pretends she's interested in joining the harbor patrol. The two agree to meet later so Tru can pick her brain. On her way to class Tru calls Harrison and tells him about the job offer from their father and about his van being stolen. Again, Tru is late for class but this time when the professor tests her she knows the answer. While on patrol with her partner, Kate sees a man tip over in his boat. She saves him and it turns out it's Jack. Once they're back on land, the two make small talk and Jack makes up a story about his sister visiting that evening. Jack goes on to tell her how he nearly died once before but didn't get the chance to express his gratitude properly and would like to buy Kate lunch. As Jack waits for Kate, Tru approaches and Kate blows her off. The two make small talk, trying to hide the fact that they know each other from Kate. Tru gets pushy with Kate and Jack offers to get rid of Tru. Tru calls Davis and is at a loss of things to do to help Kate. Davis suggests Tru stop the distress call from coming in and she tells Davis to find a way to keep Kate's boat from going anywhere later that day. When Tru gets to the boat that will later be in danger she finds out that Jack was there earlier and warned them about Tru. Jack also left a note for Tru so she'd know he'd been there. Harrison gets a call saying his van was stolen and can't believe it since he made an effort so he wouldn't be. As Davis is trying to get Kate's boat grounded, Dr. Allen comes in and thinks he's making prank phone calls. Dr. Allen leaves saying she doesn't think Davis will need a psych evaluation since she has all the answers she needs. After lunch, Jack walks Kate back to the harbor and she asks him out to a street festival later that night. Jack says he can't and Kate thinks he's not interested but he tells her that he's free all day tomorrow. She has to go because there's an emergency, the one that's supposed to take her life. Tru is waiting for Kate and tells her it isn't safe for her out there. As Kate and her partner head out to save the people on the boat they notice a white squall up ahead. They get a call saying the coast guard took the call because Davis tipped them off. Kate says she's not sure what's up with Tru but she trusts that Tru will leave her alone now, Tru says gladly. Tru doesn't think her day is over, though, and goes to the spot where Jack saved the little girl the day earlier. The girl says some guy bought it from her for $50. Jack goes to visit Kate at the Harbor Patrol headquarters, he tells her his sister is running late. As she's about to get off shift, Kate gets a distress call and has to leave. Jack answers the phone after Kate leaves and it's Tru. Jack tells her there's still an opportunity for him to do his job, that good people have to die too. Harrison calls and tells Tru that his bosses were running a scam where the vans get stolen and they collect the insurance money. As Kate is about to head out Jack stops her and she kisses him. He tells her that they'll have dinner another time as she leaves. Richard calls and Jack thanks him for his help, Richard tells him to do it himself next time. Tru knows that Kate has gone to save someone who isn't there and takes a boat to save Kate. While out on the water, Kate is thrown from her boat. She tries to get back to her boat but gets pushed farther and farther away. She starts to lose consciousness when Tru comes and rescues her. Davis is about to go upstairs to apologize to Dr. Allen and she tells him that his file is filled with glowing reviews. She tells him if he feels the need to do crazy things to blow off steam it's fine and the evaluation can wait. Harrison has dinner with Richard and accepts the job. Richard says he hopes the job can help them make up for lost time. When Harrison leaves, Richard approaches Jack at the bar. The two have plans for Harrison and Jack says that Harrison loves Tru, that bond is strong. At the morgue Tru tells Davis she beat Jack but it doesn't feel like it's enough. Davis tells her that it's because she couldn't save Luc. Jack finds a note on his winshield saying, "Been there, saved that."
2.02 - Grace
A man watches an older man from the upper level of an outdoor market near the water. The younger man takes a gun and conceals it by wrapping his jacket around it. He shoots the older man in the back, killing him.
Later, Tru is in class where they're splitting into groups of four to work on cadavers. She's approached by another female student and two guys who say they want her because she answered a trick question previously in class and made a professor look bad. Tyler, Jensen, Avery and Tru all start working on their cadaver when they start checking out the gift Jensen got for his girlfriend. As they're messing around, the professor approaches and the perfume drops.
Tru and Harrison are hanging out as Harrison does work for their dad. He's helping his dad investigate for cases.
Outside the morgue, Davis is getting coffee and runs into Dr. Carrie Allen. Once again, Davis finds himself nervous and awkward. He and Tru later discuss how badly things went with Carrie and Tru catches on that he likes her. She gets a call from Harrison and he tells her he succeeded. Tru suggests Davis talk to Carrie again as he and Tru begin to examine a body that came in. It's the man who was shot earlier, Dr. Thomas Burrell. They find a note in his pocket and when Tru reads it to Davis, he tells her the doctor must be a psychiatrist. As he explains how he knows that, the doctor asks for help and the day rewinds. Tru wakes up in class just as the perfume drops. This time it lands on the professor's shoes and Tru leaves class to save the doctor.
Jack tells Richard that he rewound, while Tru starts giving Davis information. Richard tells Jack that Tru's been winning lately. Jack tells Richard that the mistake made with Tru's mom was killing her, the calling just passed to someone else. Tru needs to be rendered powerless and Jack has an idea of how to do that. Davis is researching Burrell and gives Tru his address. Before she gets there, though, Jack does. Jack introduces himself as Paul Goodwin and says he wants to learn coping skills for his high stress job. Jack describes himself as repo man. They make an appointment and when Dr. Burrell goes to answer his phone, Jack plants a file in his cabinet and adds Tru's name throughout the appointment book. Jack confirms the appointment but before he leaves he warns the doctor that he has a crazy ex-girlfriend who might try and convince the doctor he's in danger.
Tru goes to Dr. Burrell, but she's late. Jack is waiting for her and she asks how he always knows and how he gets there before she does. Jack describes their relationship as business rivals and Tru leaves to track down Dr. Burrell.
Dr. Burrell is once again waiting at the market, only this time Tru is also there trying to find him. Just as the young man with the gun approaches, Tru gets to Dr. Burrell and tries to get him away. The doctor is once again shot and Jack is there shouting that Tru did it. She is immediately arrested but when the cop looks away, Tru runs. Still in handcuffs, she calls the one person she knows can help - Harrison. Once she's out of the cuffs, she calls Davis who can't talk because the police are there in the morgue. They try to conceal what they're discussing and in a roundabout way Davis tries helping her and suggests she go to her father.
Harrison takes Tru to their father's office and he already knows what's happened since the police were already there. Richard tells his daughter that the police found evidence that Tru was a patient of Dr. Burrell's. Tru explains that the witness is Jack and that he's out to get her. Richard says he sent Harrison out of the room because he thinks she might have something to tell him that he doesn't want Harrison to hear. When she and Harrison leave, Tru tells Harrison that their father thinks she's guilty. Harrison tells her that she's not on his own, she's got him. Harrison suggests they run off and hide in Mexico but Tru turns down the idea.
Tru calls Davis again and tells him to look for the note on Dr. Burrell. The note apparently referenced a manual for psychiatric diagnostics, but the edition mentioned in the note was replaced by a newer addition years earlier. Davis suggests Tru get in contact with the body again in hopes of Dr. Burrell asking for help again. Tru suggests Davis bring the body to the anatomy lab at school. Tru borrows Harrison's car and gets herself to the lab where she runs into Jensen. She says she's surprised that Jensen is still there since he's so smart, he says he's trying to live up to his dad's reputation. As the officer who arrested Tru approaches, Officer Gomez, Tru tells Jensen she's in some trouble and before she hides she asks him to help her. She hides underneath the table while Officer Gomez questions Jensen. Officer Gomez smells the perfume that was dropped earlier and Jensen covers for Tru.
Davis tries to get Dr. Burrell's body out of the morgue but keeps running into the police assigned to wait to see if Tru shows up. Two of the officers call Gomez and she leaves Jensen. Tru thanks Jensen before running off, telling him she hopes she can either explain this to him someday or that she won't have to. At the morgue, Officer Gomez questions Davis while Tru tells Harrison that Davis hasn't showed up and Harrison tries to get his sister to hide. Tru calls Davis by Detective Gomez picks up. She tries to get Tru to turn herself in. Det. Gomez tells Tru that Dr. Burrell called her there to discuss a patient, who the detective guesses is true. Since Davis can no longer help, Tru asks Harrison to steal a book from the medical library. Davis gets away from the detective telling her she has the body and he has a morgue to run. Harrison brings Tru the book along with a piece of paper the police have been handing out since Tru is wanted.
Davis finds Dr. Allen and wants to ask her about patient/therapist confidentiality. He tells her that he's writing a book and asks under what circumstances it would be ethical to discuss a patient with the police. She tells him a doctor can go to the police if there's an immediate threat. Davis suggests Tru search the doctor's files and search for someone with violent tendencies. Davis swipes the doctor's personal effects to get his keys and Harrison helps by disguising himself as a messenger to get them to Tru.
As Tru searches the doctor's, Harrison stands guard and his punched by Jack. Tru finds what she's looking for when Det. Gomez walks in. Tru tells her that the real killer is Donald Stewart Mitchell, who killed his girlfriend earlier, and if he saw the detective talking to Dr. Burrell, he'll want her dead too. Just as they're talking, Mitchell walks in and shoots Det. Gomez. Mitchell takes the file from Tru and says he's not going to kill her, she's going to take the fall for his two murders. As Mitchell leaves, Harrison walks in and sees Tru kneeling over Det. Gomez's body, just as she asks for help. Waking up, Tru catches the perfume this time and hands it to Jensen.
Tru calls Harrison and tells him that two lives need saving. Tru calls Harrison and tells him the plan. Back at the market Tru approaches Dr. Burrell and says she knows he's waiting for Det. Gomez. She tells the doctor that they believe he's in immediate danger. Harrison heads of Jack by punching him. Jack tells Harrison that Mitchell now thinks Tru is the cop so now she's a target. Jack tackles Tru and tells Mitchell that Det. Gomez is approaching and she's the one he wants to kill. Mitchell pulls the gun as Tru gets Jack off of her. She pulls out a scalpel she took from class in case she ended up in handcuffs again and stabs Mitchell in the leg.
Det. Gomez thanks Tru for her help and she and Davis discuss Tru being on the lam. Tru and Dr. Allen introduce themselves. Davis tries to talk to Dr. Allen but is, once again, inept. Tru teases him about liking Carrie. Tru runs into Jack on her way to class. He wonders if she should say thank you for saving her life. She says she would if he weren't setting Det. Gomez up to die or framing her for murder. She tells Jack to learn to be a gracious leader. Tru goes into class to work with Jensen, Avery and Tyler.
2.03 - In the Dark
Tru wakes up on her birthday to Harrison knocking on the door with a balloon. He tells her that their dad sends his birthday wishes but she knows Harrison is lying. Tru gets to class and Avery tells her that Jensen and Lexie are engaged. Tru goes to the morgue and calls for Davis but he doesn't answer. She walks into the crypt and everyone yells, "Surprise!" Harrison and Davis are throwing her a surprise party. Harrison's gift is a hot tub, which makes the power short out when he plugs it in. They decide to leave the lights off for ambiance. Tru introduces Harrison and Davis to Avery and Tyler, and soon Jensen and Lexie arrive. Davis brings Tru her birthday present, two hats to represent the medical student and her calling. Davis gets nervous when Carrie arrives and Tru urges him to ask her to stay. As Tru is walking around, she sees Avery arguing with Lexie. As Tru is about to blow out her candles, the lights go out completely. When she does blow them out, someone asks for her help and the day rewinds.
Tru wakes up and tells Harrison that she's having a rewind day but doesn't know who asked. Harrison asks if he messed anything up on her birthday and she tells him he did not. She tells him to cancel the party, though, since it wouldn't be a surprise anymore.
Davis and Harrison discuss the voice she heard and can't figure out who it was. They go over the guest list and Tru starts to wonder if Avery and Lexie are somehow involved.
Harrison runs into Jack and the two discuss the fact that Harrison is still alive. Jack tries to bait Harrison by telling which horses will win in the races today. Jack tells Harrison that Tru isn't being very nice to him, not helping him win with his gambling.
Tru goes to school again and wonders what the commotion is about. Avery informs Tru that Jensen and Lexie are now engaged. Tru asks Avery why she isn't being as straightforward as she normally is in regard to her opinion about Lexie. Tru congratulates Jensen and offers to take Jensen, Lexie, Avery and Tyler to lunch.
Harrison questions a cab driver about a client of his father's. Harrison is distracted when he's reminded of the names of the horses Jack told him about.
Tru calls Davis to give him the plan for the day while he's watching Carrie to make sure she's okay. He sees Jack introduce himself to Carrie and once she's gone, Davis tells Jack to stay away from Carrie. Davis calls Tru and tells her everything has changed. Davis things that Jack is staying close to Carrie because she's the one who's supposed to die today. Tru calls Harrison to follow Carrie, but he's at the racetrack and doesn't answer. Tru still thinks Avery and Lexie are involved but Davis is worried about Carrie.
At lunch, Tru and Lexie make small talk. When the champagne arrives, Lexie declines a glass and Avery asks if she's pregnant. Everyone at the table is shocked. Tru sees Jack outside the restaurant and excuses herself. She tells him to stay away from her friends.
Davis prepares himself to talk to Carrie but runs into her office when he hears her scream. She tells him he knows they don't know each other well but she can talk to him. She tells him she was involved in an abusive marriage and her husband is dead, he drowned. She goes on to tell him that the police believed she was involved in her husband's death, but they later dropped the case. Carrie says she screamed because she got two notes, both saying that the sender knows that she did it.
At the racetrack, the tip from Jack pans out and Harrison wins.
At the morgue Tru tells Davis that she thinks Avery knows that the baby isn't Jensen's. Davis says he thinks Tru is wrong, but Tru is going to go volunteer at the clinic with Avery to check things out. Davis thinks that Carrie's ex-sister-in-law killed her and that Tru isn't being objective about the situation. Davis tells Tru that if Carrie dies, he'll never forgive her.
Tru asks Avery how long she's volunteered at the clinic and Avery tells her that Jensen got her into it. The two used to date but now they're good friends and it's better that way. Tru notices Avery checking Lexie's file and tries to get her to slow down, but Avery leaves. Tru tells Davis that there is no baby, Lexie is lying to Jensen.
Davis goes to see Carrie's former sister-in-law under the pretense of reopening the case. The woman insists that Carrie murdered her brother. Davis later barges into Carrie's office telling her she's not safe there. He takes her to his apartment and she says she feels safe there.
Tru goes to Avery's dorm to find her and her roommate says that Lexie is meeting Jensen and Lexie at the Standard Diner. When Tru gets there she finds that Harrison has moved the party. Harrison is proud of himself but Tru is preoccupied trying to find Avery. Tru asks Jensen if he's seen Avery. He hasn't but Tru goes ahead and tells Jensen that Lexie isn't really pregnant. Tru and Tyler watch Lexie and Avery argue and Jack comes up to her. As they watch, Avery hugs Lexie and Jack tells Tru that Lexie may be lying but she isn't a killer. Harrison tells Tru that he thinks Jack set it up so Harrison could still throw the party and keep Tru away from the morgue.
Carrie and Davis are sitting in his apartment, drinking a lot of wine and discussing Davis' wife. The two kiss but Davis backs away. Carrie pulls him in for another kiss. Davis hears something in the hallway and goes to check it out. It's Tru, who tells Davis that he was right. Davis says Carrie is safe and that he thinks the sister-in-law hired someone. Tru recognizes the handwriting on the notes to Carrie, it's Jack's writing. Both Carrie and Avery were decoys. Tru guesses that the lights went out the night before because the wiring is bad and the maintenance man was supposed to die. She rushes there to help him.
At the morgue, the maintnance man is fixing the wiring while his foot is in a small puddle of water. As Tru gets there, the man is electrocuted and died. Jack is there and says Tru could give the man CPR, but the wires are still hot. Jack says it's possibly easier when Tru doesn't know the victim but she says it isn't.
The next day at the morgue Davis gives Tru her gift, saying he thought it was clever at the time. She says she's starting to think she can't wear both hats. They discuss how Jack always seems to know what's going to happen even if he isn't there when help is asked for. At school, Tru and Avery discuss Jensen and the fact that even if Tru isn't at class sometimes, she always seems to know what happened or what was discussed. Tru goes to talk to Jensen and apologizes to him. He tells Tru he guesses Lexie picked him because he's the last guy who'd marry a girl because she was pregnant, Tru says she likes that he's that guy. Jensen says he doesn't really miss Lexie, he misses the girl he thought she was.
Davis goes to talk to Carrie who thanks him for making her feel safe. She tells him that kissing was a good thing but she has to run before they can talk more. Before she goes, she tells him she thanks whatever force brought him to her. Later, Jack is sitting at a bar and Carrie sits next to him. She tells him that this bar is better than the place they first met in. Carrie tells Jack that she got to know Davis better and that he believes every word that she says.
2.04 - The Last Good Day
Tru and Jack each wake up in their own apartments, both tearing off the previous day from their calendars. At school Tru runs into Jensen who asks her if she wants to scalp tickets to a jazz concert Lexie wanted to go to. Harrison calls and tells Tru that he's got a big assignment to do for their father and she tells him she's sure he'll do a good job. Carrie goes to see Davis, telling him it's been a week since they kissed and she's been waiting for him to ask her on a date. She does the asking and offers to cook for him at his apartment that night.
Jack is walking through town and stops in front of an office building to listen to a singer playing her guitar. The girl standing next to him tells Jack she's seen him before. She says she's seen him before and that she's playing hooky today. She tells Jack she has two tickets for a jazz quintet and asks if he wants to go.
Tru and Jensen try to scalp the tickets but there are no takers.
Back at his apartment, Davis is impressed with the meal Carrie has cooked. Davis is nervous, especially when Carrie suggests that the night could be filled with first times.
Harrison is taking pictures for his father when he notices a friend of his taking part in something illegal. Harrison calls Tru and tells her that he destroyed the pictures because if he didn't, his friend would go to jail. As Tru hangs up the phone, Jensen brings her coffee.
Outside the same office building, Jack sees the same girl from earlier.
While walking Tru back to her apartment, Jensen finds out that he won a bet on a fight.
Carrie calls Jack and tells him that her plan to seduce Davis failed because she might have come on too strong. Jack hears a woman screaming and when he goes to see what happened he sees that the woman from earlier fell off of the roof of the building. In front of her apartment door, Tru is about to kiss Jensen. As Jack is looking at the woman who fell, she turns her head and asks Jack for help. Both Tru and Jack rewind.
Tru explains to Davis how bizarre this rewind was and that there were no corpses around. Davis suggests that possibly Tru was the one who died but that one is quickly shot down. They discuss what Tru saw before the rewind happened. Tru mentions a painting, a music poster, a guitar case, some coins and a twenty dollar bill. Davis mentions that there are street performers at Atlantic Plaza and Tru says that she saw the clock on the Edison Tower and Davis says that perhaps the victim fell from Edison Tower. Tru tells Davis that the rewind felt bad, cold, like a part of her was dying.
Jack is talking to Richard and has explained what happened. Jack is wondering why the rules have changed. Richard tells Jack that he's supposed to do his job.
Tru tells Harrison that the day before Harrison photographed a friend doing something illegal. Their dad comes in and Tru says that she only gets a day off if death takes a day off.
Jack is back at Atlantic Plaza and calls Carrie, telling her to go easy, not be easy. Jack stands next to the woman who died in front of the street performer and tells her that he's always wanted to learn guitar, something she told him before the day rewind. Jack invites her to breakfast, saying work threw him a curve ball and gave him the day off. The two head to breakfast just as Tru finds the street performer and asks her about the twenty dollar bill. She tells Tru she just missed them.
The woman tells Jack that she was a receptionist but quit the day before. Today she has a list of things she wants to do. Jack asks to look at it but she says it's private. Jack asks if he's invited on her day and she says he is. First on the list is a museum to visit a painting the woman did a paper on when she majored in art history. Tru finds Jack at the museum and introduces herself to the woman, Megan Roberts. Tru and Jack excuse themselves for a moment and Tru tells Jack she now knows that Jack always knows what happens because he sees the victim's day when it rewinds. Jack says that perhaps Megan asked him for help to make sure she does die, she commits suicide and if she doesn't want to live she has no use for Tru.
Tru tells Davis all about Megan and he finds information on her. Tru wonders what Megan needs from Jack, while Davis wonders what Megan needs from Tru. Harrison walks into a bar to meet Billy, his friend that was caught by Harrison before the rewind. The two catch up and Harrison finds out one of his friends is now in jail. Billy thinks Harrison is there because he needs money and Billy suggests Harrison join him later that night loading boxes into a truck. Harrison suggests they just hang out at his place.
Tru goes to visit Megan's sister, saying that the two of them were roommates in college. Tru says she's been getting worried because Megan has been sounding kind of distant.
Carrie goes to see Davis and suggests the two of them have dinner that night in the morgue. Jack and Megan are about to enter the jazz concert from the day before when Tru approaches. She tells Jack that she found out from Megan's sister that she has leukemia, he doesn't have to do anything because Megan is going to die anyway.
Tru tracks down Jensen and persuades him to go with her to the jazz concert. Back at the concert, Jack asks Megan what's going on. He says they're having a good time but he has a feeling that this might be the only day. He says he'd like to know what she'd say if he said he wants to see her that weekend. She says she won't be around and begins to explain to him that she has leukemia. She says she's not going to die hooked up to machines and in pain. The list is ten things she wants to do before she dies. She says she's only completed four and hands Jack the list, telling him to do the others for him. She goes on to tell him that she has an insurance policy through work that's only good if the death is accidental. Jack gets it, she made it look like an accident so that her sister gets the money, $100,000.
Tru and Jensen walk into the jazz concert and Megan asks if Tru is an ex or something. Jack tells Tru that the day before Megan's death looked like a suicide so she asked Jack for help so it'll look like an accident.
Harrison and Billy are still at the bar drinking and Harrison tries to persuade his friend not to go.
Tru goes to talk to Megan, who asks Tru what's up with her and Jack. Tru explains to Megan about how Luc died and that just as she thought she'd never have a great day again, she did, sometimes good stuff happens out of the blue. Megan guesses that Jack told Tru that she has leukemia. Megan says it isn't just about the money and Tru tells her it doesn't have to end that night, she's head a great day. Just as Jensen returns with drinks, Tru says good-bye to Jack and Megan. Tru tells Jensen that they're ditching the jazz concert to go see a boxing match.
Knowing the results, Tru wins $100,000 and gives it to Megan and her sister Wendy. Harrison goes to work for his dad and sees that Billy did not take his advice. Harrison takes the pictures anyway, Richard is very pleased.
When Megan gets home with Jack, her sister tells her that Tru stopped by with a check for $100,000. They can now afford good doctors and to do some other things on Megan's list.
At her apartment, Tru and Jensen share their first kiss.
On Megan's porch, she tells Jack that talking to Tru and getting the money has made her rethink things. She's had a good day and would like a few more. She tells Jack that she was going on a one way trip that night but she'd like him to go with her to the Edison Tower. He asks what she thinks they'll see there and she says, "Another day." Jack calls Richard for advice, telling him that Megan has changed her mind. Jack says he won't kill Megan but Richard says he doesn't have a choice.
At the morgue Carrie and Davis are having a picnic and she's quizzing him on the Lord of the Rings trivia book when Tru calls for help. She says thinks she has everything covered but wants to head to the Edison Tower just in case anything goes wrong. Carrie excuses herself and calls Jack, telling him Tru is on her way to the Edison Tower.
Megan tells Jack that she's glad he took the day off because the day would have ended differently. Jack tells her that he hates his job. Megan asks what he does and he says he helps people even though they don't always think of it as help. Megan says she feels like she's been given a second chance and asks Jack if he's ever felt that way, he has. He hands her the list she handed him earlier, saying she should keep it now but it blows away in the wind. Megan goes to get the list over the building and falls. Jack grabs her at the last minute and is hanging on to her. She begs him to pull her up as Tru tries to get to the observation deck. Jack tells Megan he's not strong enough to pull her up. Jack says he's sorry as Megan falls to her death. When Tru gets there she tells Jack she wishes it was him. He says, "That makes two of us."
2.05 - Enough
Jensen, Avery and Tru are playing flag football with a group of friends and after the game Jensen walks Tru to work. In a store window Tru sees a medical bag that reminds her of the one their family doctor had when she was growing up. Jensen suggests she buy it, but she says she's not a doctor yet, not even a real med student. When they get to the morgue and Jensen leaves Tru asks Davis how long it was before he dated after his wife died. Davis tells her if she's having feelings for Jensen she should go for it.
Jensen goes by the store with the medical bag and walks in. Walking in after him is a man with a gun who robs the place.
When Tru walks into her apartment someone asks for help. It's Harrison, who got a haircut after their dad said he looked a little scruffy. Tru helps by putting a hat on Harrison's head. Right after Harrison leaves there's a knock on the door. It's Avery, she tells Tru that Jensen is dead.
Tru goes to the morgue and Davis offers his condolences. Tru doesn't want that, she's there to fix it. She asks Davis all the information she'll need to save Jensen and realizes that he went to buy the bag they'd seen earlier. She believes everyone she loves is in danger simply for knowing her. Carrie walks in and offers to listen if Tru needs to talk, but Tru refuses to go anywhere. Carrie calls Jack to let him know about Jensen. Avery and Davis are watching Tru as she sits with Jensen, having been there for four hours.
When Avery leaves, Davis asks Tru if she wants to go to the diner. Tru realizes that Jensen isn't going to ask for help and decides to visit every morgue in the county to find someone who will ask for help.
At the diner Jack tells Davis that he knows what Tru's doing. Davis says Tru has a knack for changing fate. Jack says deep down he thinks Davis agrees with him, that finding someone else who died to ask for help so she can save Jensen is wrong.
Tru goes back to the morgue telling Davis she had no luck at any of the other morgues. She says she isn't going anywhere until someone asks for help. She doesn't care of she's not supposed to help Jensen, she's going to anyway. They get a call saying a body is being brought in. Davis suggests Tru just accept this and she asks if that's what Carrie said. Tru says she is in denial, she's not letting this happen.
At the scene of the accident for the body that was supposed to be brought in Tru finds out that the victim was an escaped prisoner who got free from work detail and crashed a car into a restaurant. Davis says he knows that Tru is angry but asks her if the day restarts she not forgot what he said. The body does ask for help and Tru's day starts all over again.

Harrison and Travis talk and Harrison finds out that the wedding he's trying to get to is his daughter Mandy's. Mandy doesn't know that Travis is her father, but he doesn't resent her stepfather, he just wants to see the wedding. After the wedding he's going to turn himself in. Harrison asks what Travis was in for, he was a getaway driver, mostly for bank heists. Travis says a man can't change who he is, but Harrison disagrees. Travis thinks Harrison will slip up. They hear a siren and Travis starts driving faster.
Davis hands Jensen a large pile of books and asks to have a word with Tru. Davis wonders why Tru hasn't called and checked in with Davis. She finally tells Davis that even though Jensen died, he didn't ask for help. Carrie tells Jensen that once Tru and Davis get talking, they go on forever. Jensen needs to leave, though, so Carrie offers to tell Davis and Tru that he had to go. Tru thinks that fate doesn't give a damn about her, so she's going to save Jensen even though he didn't ask. Carrie tells Tru that Jensen left and had to meet a friend. Tru realizes that Jack must be trying to get the consignment store where Jensen was shot to open. Tru and Davis try and figure out where Jack took Jensen. Tru thinks they're going to the restaurant where Travis crashed the car.
While Travis and Harrison are involved in the high speed chase, Tru calls and Harrison tells her that he's in the car with Travis. Tru tells Harrison to keep Travis away from the 3rd Street Cafe since that's where the accident happened the night before. Travis refuses to pull over, saying he's got to make to the wedding. The car goes out of control and Travis and Harrison jump out. Tru knocks Jensen out of the way just in time. Tru checks on Travis and Harrison, but they're fine.
Travis and Harrison watch the wedding from across the street and when the police drive up, Travis goes and turns himself in, saying he hopes to never see Harrison in prison. Harrison says he's not the guy who ends up there anymore and Travis says he thinks he's right.
At the morgue Tru tells Davis that they're two for two that day. Davis says he thinks his concerns are valid, but had he been in Tru's position, he would have done the same thing. Davis wants to tell Carrie the truth about what he and Tru do at the morgue. Tru says they barely know Carrie and he agrees to not tell her.
When Tru walks into school, the class applauds her for saving Jensen's life and gets a hug from Avery. Jensen says he thinks he may have hurt his wrist when Try tackled him and when she checks it out, he says he got a sense of déjà vu. At the office, Harrison walks into his father's office as Richard is on the phone telling someone that he's got a wife and family. He hangs up when he notices Harrison, who wants a raise since his rent went up. Richard says it wouldn't look good for him to give his son a raise so soon.
At the Standard Diner, Tru is opening Secret Santa gifts with Avery, Tyler and Jensen. Tyler gets Avery a comb and she teases him about the under $10 rule. She and Tyler are each going home for the holidays and Tru tells them she and Harrison will be spending the holiday together. They notice that Jensen is in the holiday spirit and he says because Tru saved him, he's treating every day as a gift.
Harrison tells Tru that based on the part of the phone call he heard, he thinks they father is cheating on Jordan. He says their dad has been making odd phone calls, taking long lunches and there's an apartment he goes to for short periods of time. Tru says she doesn't think they should jump to any conclusions until they have proof. Harrison says he'll bring proof to Christmas dinner.
Tru walks into the morgue and finds that the body brought in was a Santa impersonator but Davis thinks he died of natural causes. Davis comments that the holidays are normally a violent time of year but things are quiet. Tru is guessing since he's the only dead guy in town, he's not going to ask for help. Carrie calls and tells Davis she'll be a little late for dinner. She's at the community center and the Santa they hired to bring presents to under privileged kids hasn't arrived and she doesn't want the kids disappointed. Tru tells Davis he can spend the holiday with her and Harrison but he says it's been a while since he spent Christmas with a woman and he'd like to wait for Carrie. Tru wishes Davis a Merry Christmas and says she'll see him tomorrow.
Harrison follows his father to an apartment building, trying to find proof of an affair. Harrison walks into the apartment and finds that Richard isn't talking to a woman, he's talking to Jack.
At her apartment Tru calls Harrison since he's late. She says she's not waiting for him so she's going to the lab to get some work done and that he better have a damn good reason for standing her up.
Harrison runs out and Richard follows him. He tries to tell Harrison that he's protecting Tru but Harrison doesn't believe him. He tells Harrison that the truth is that Jack called him and said some interesting things about Tru and Richard was meeting him there to find out more. Harrison asks if that's the first time Richard has ever met Jack, but Harrison says he knows his dad had gone there three times that week. Richard tells Harrison he always knew he was smart, Tru was good with the books but Harrison knows people. When Harrison calls Tru Richard knocks the phone out of his hand. Richard says that what he's about to tell Harrison cannot be told to Tru, Harrison has no idea what he's dealing with. Harrison refuses to not tell Tru and Richard begins to strangle his son. He stops and Harrison runs off.
Tru walks into the lab to work and finds Jensen there. She says she thought he'd be ought celebrating the holidays. He says he didn't think anyone should be alone on the holidays, not even the cadaver. He says now that he has a new lease on life and is now having a "devil may care" attitude. Jensen gets a message from Avery and Tyler saying their flights have been delayed and they're spending their holiday at the airport. Tru gets a call and thinks it's probably Harrison calling to explain why he stood her up. It is Harrison and he's frantic trying to get a hold of his sister. Before Tru can answer, a female cadaver asks for help and the day rewinds.
Tru calls Avery and says she can't make it to breakfast but suggests Avery and Tyler call the airport before leaving so they don't get stranded.
Jack wakes up when Richard calls and tells him that Harrison followed him to Jack's apartment before the day rewound. As Richard hangs up, Harrison comes in and asks for a raise. Richard says Harrison deserves it so he'll take it to the partners and check.
Davis goes to the morgue and asks who killed Santa. Tru says that Santa was supposed to go to the community center and since he died, Carrie will be late for dinner. Tru goes on to say that the one to ask for help was a cadaver at school and those bodies have been dead for six months. Tru wonders what's going on since she clearly hasn't gone back six months to save this woman's life.
Tru goes to the lab and finds Jack standing over the cadaver. Jack offers to help her with her job day, offering a holiday truce. There's no one to save, no one to fight over. Tru doesn't want his help though. When Jack leaves Tru talks to the cadaver, wondering why she asked for help. Jensen walks in and wonders why Tru is working on another group's cadaver. He tells Tru that the cadaver is rare since it met an unnatural death. She died of asphyxiation and hit her head.
Tru and Harrison talk about Harrison thinking Richard is having an affair. Harrison thinks their father is on to him since he's being so nice.
At the morgue Davis tries to get Santa's bag out of processing so he could take them to the kids at the community center. Davis says it would be easier if he could tell Carrie how he knows what's going to happen but knows Tru doesn't want that. Davis suggests that since Jack sees the victim's day, she go to him for help.
Jack makes Tru say "help me" before he'll give his help. She does and the two go to a rural area with a broken fence, the last thing Jack saw in the victim's day. They find a small bouquet of daisies and Tru calls the florist. She finds out that the only person to buy daisies that day was someone named Ann Moore was the only one to buy daisies that day. Tru thanks Jack for his help.
Tru goes to see Ann Moore and says she's from the college and wants to talk to the families of someone who's donated a cadaver. The woman doesn't want to speak to Tru but changes her mind when Jack comes up and says that they'll pay for the information. They're invited in immediately. Ann's sister Allison was the victim and they find out that a man named Russell Marks, who she worked with and was seeing. He was married and when Allison found out and went to break it off is when she died. A girl comes in and says she's ready for church. Jack says that's the girl he saw in the cadaver's memories. The girl is Allison's and now Ann is raising her. Ann tells them that Russell Marks was arrested but there was reasonable doubt. Ann asks if there's anything else, she and Cambria, Allison's daughter, have to go to St. Matthews.
Jack and Tru are at the morgue and he says that she clearly needs his help since he's still there. Jack asks what they're supposed to do since they aren't saving someone's life. They start wondering if maybe Ann Moore might be trying to get revenge on Russell Marks, if she goes to jail for attempted murder then Cambria is left alone. They decide they should find out where Russell Marks is.
Harrison walks in and wonders why Jack is there. Harrison tells Tru that their father was upfront about everything. He says that Richard told him the apartment is used when he meets with his L.A. clients but Harrison knows they aren't due in until next week. Jack says he'll give the two of them some privacy and when he's gone Harrison wants to know why Jack is there. Harrison says Jack can't be trusted. Jack calls Richard and says that he needs to be more careful with Harrison, he's still suspicious.
Tru and Jack do some more research and go to Russell Marks' home. His wife assumes that they're with the press but they say they're with neighborhood watch looking for volunteers. Russell isn't there but Mrs. Marks says they should check the church, that's where they'll be later. Tru and Jack know that Cambria and Ann will be at the same church later and head there.
At the community center, Carrie is trying to explain to the kids that Santa is just late. Davis walks in dressed as Santa with a bag of presents and tells Carrie he'll explain later.
Tru and Jack walk into the church and Jack says as long as the dead stay dead he has no problem helping people, that's why he's helping. Or, perhaps he doesn't one to spend Christmas alone he tells her. They approach Russell Marcks when he comes in and tell him that they're friends of the Moores. They tell him that Ann and Cambria will be there today and they thought they'd warn him. Russell says he's innocent and is moving on with his life. Jack says he is starting to think the jury was right and that Russell Marks might not be guilty.
Davis is handing out gifts to kids but instead of the gifts the dead Santa had, he's brought equipment from the morgue such as bone cutters and splatter guards.
Jack and Tru watch Cambria and Ann, both of whom leave when they see Russell Marks. Tru decides to watch Russell while Jack keeps an eye on Cambria and Ann.
At the apartment Harrison went to before the day rewound he confronts his father. Richard says he spoiled the surprise, the apartment is a Christmas present for Harrison.
While Tru is watching Russell at church Jensen comes in. He lights candles for the people in his family who have died. Tru invites Jensen to have dinner with her and Harrison. Jack calls Tru and tells her that Ann isn't doing anything and she tells him that Russell is going home. As they're on the phone Ann runs out can calls for Cambria. Jack says he thinks the person Allison wants them to save was her daughter.
Outside Russell Marks' home Cambria approaches him and asks him if he knows who she is. He says he does and she pulls a gun on him. Russell tells Cambria that that he loved Allison and was going to give up his family and job to be with her. Jack comes up and tries to get Cambria to put the gun down. Tru watches Jack talk to Cambria has he tells her that they don't get to decide who lives or dies. Tru begins talking to Cambria as well telling her that this isn't the answer. Russell's wife walks out and asks what's going on. Tru notices her scarf is like the one Jack described that he saw in Allison's memories. Tru tells Cambria that if she kills Russell she'll have to live with it her entire life, just as Mrs. Marks does. Cambria puts the gun down and Jack asks if they're going to press charges and Russell says no. Mrs. Marks thinks she should pay for trying to take her husband from her, like Allison Moore. Jack and Tru leave with Cambria as Russell realizes that his wife killed Allison Moore. Mrs. Marks says she did it for their marriage as the police drive up.
At the community center Carrie thanks Davis for what he did even though she doesn't understand why he did it. He says he wanted to give her the perfect gift for Christmas and he says that the gift is the truth. He tells Carrie about what Tru does.
Jack and Tru discuss helping people and how for one day Jack wore the white hat. Jack says that the white hat in films wasn't really about good or bad, it was because it was easier to pick up on camera for lighting. The color of the hat is about what you choose to see. Jack and Tru part ways saying they guess they'll see each other until the day one of them quits. Tru remembers what Jack said about not wanting to spend Christmas Eve by himself and though she's not forgiving him and their relationship isn't changing, she invites him to spend Christmas Eve with her.
Tru and Jack get to her apartment and Harrison again wonders why Jack is there. Jensen brought Avery and Tyler to dinner since their flights were canceled. Davis brought Carrie with him to dinner and Tru notices that Davis seems a little off. When Tru walks away, Carrie asks when Davis is going to tell Tru that Carrie knows. Harrison tells Tru about the apartment that Richard got him. Jack and Richard are introduced to each other. Jensen holds up mistletoe and kisses Tru. From across the room Richard asks Jack about Jensen, he was supposed to be one of Jack's. Richard also asks about Carrie and Jack tells him that she's got Davis. Everyone shares a Christmas drink, forgetting past grudges for the night.
